About Us

Down the street from Founder & CEO Connor Dean’s childhood home in Pacific Palisades, California, was the beautiful Villa de Leon. Perched atop a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, it was adorned with beautiful marble statues & ornamental Mediterranean architecture. It was an architectural gem, but surrounded by newly-built modern homes, spurring the question of why other homes didn’t have such artistic elements and attention to detail.

Later travels to architecturally astounding cities such as London, Paris, and Rome, as well as living in New York City, furthered this curiosity. Finally, while pursuing his MBA at Southern Methodist University, he took a trip to Madrid for an entrepreneurship class. Here, he was bewildered by how many gorgeous classical buildings he saw that still seemed relatively new. And yet, in his new home of Dallas, Texas, he saw very few of these. After discovering a new way to cut down on the time & cost of carving stone, the idea for Robossaince was born.

We believe that the buildings we make shape the world around us, and that we deserve for them to be beautiful. To be detailed, intricate, and include curves and shapes like we find in nature. We deserve color and character, to be inspired and awe-struck by what mankind can create. Not to be bored and depressed by square grey blocks of cement and glass, devoid of character, detail, and a sense of place.

We deserve to fill the spaces we spend the most time in with art and decor that we find intriguing and reverent, harkening back to times of curiosity and discovery. Pieces that transcend mere functionality, evoking wonder and providing solace. Not ordinary monotone shapes that simply get the job done.

100% Real Materials.

Unlike other companies that sell products made out of fake marble or stone, mixing marble dust and resin or simply using cheaper materials, Robossaince uses only the best quarried marble and stone. This ensures that each piece is wholly authentic and, with the different coloring and veins inherent in natural stone, completely unique. Additionally, this also helps to ensure that our pieces are of the highest quality and durability.

Process

  • We search across the globe for the finest wood and stone materials we can find. We use only those which are bathed in history, used in the most beautiful and famous works ever created.

  • It all begins with an idea. We imagine what we would like to bring into the world, aligning with traditional design styles, and create 3D files that envision our creation. You can choose from our portfolio of existing designs, or work with us to develop one custom for you.

  • Once the 3D design is complete, it is sent to our state-of-the-art 5-axis stone milling robots. They act similarly to Michelangelo's assistants. There, the pieces are meticulously carved with extreme precision at five times the speed of a human sculptor. This speeds up the process and removes the most dangerous aspect of stone sculpting, while also opening up our hand-carvers to focus on the finer details.

  • Lastly, once the piece is brought into form, our hand-carving sculptors make the finishing touches. A robot can only do so much, which is why our sculptors add the finer details and bring a human touch to each piece. This is also when we smooth out and shine the surface to look its absolute best and last as long as possible.

  • Once complete, we review each and every piece for quality assurance. We also add any final elements needed, such as felt, wiring, or glass, according to each piece.

  • Once everything is perfect, we ready each piece for shipping, packaged safely in our boxes and sent to you with our trusted carriers. And of course, we ensure each delivery with insurance, just in case.

FAQs

  • Our website claims to have better prices than genuine stone pieces that are only hand-carved. If you see similar products on another site for less, if you look closely at the description, it is most likely being made with marble dust and resin (like glue), whereas ours is made from the highest-quality marble in the world, cut directly from quarries like in Carrara, Italy, where world-famous sculptures such as Michelangelo's David were cut from. Additionally, they likely use a cast in which the marble dust and resin are poured to form a shape, whereas we start with a solid block of real natural stone and carve the piece out of it, like all famous sculptors of the past. This means that our products are actually genuine instead of simulating natural stone, are far more durable and long-lasting, are of the highest quality and precision, and thus are far more valuable.
